Tajikistan participated at the World’s Leading Tourism Exhibition ITB in Berlin


From March 7 to 11, 2012 with support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of public and private tourism sectors of Tajikistan about 20 people participated in the largest tourism exhibition in the world, ITB Berlin, which will feature a wide range of tourist services. This B2B platform is an excellent opportunity for trade visitors to meet business partners and to establish new business relations.

ITB, International Tourism Exchange was first held in Berlin in 1966 and only 5 countries have participated. In 2011, total number of 11,163 companies from 188 countries presented their products and services to 170,000 visitors, 110,791 of whom were trade visitors.
Last 4 years, Tajikistan has participated regularly in the ITB Berlin. Tajikistan stand is located in Hall of the Great Silk Road along with other destinations in the regions.

Tour operators, airlines and hotels will exhibit their advertising products and services, meet with business partners, and become familiar with the market.

When the vice-chairman of the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism of the Government of the republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Lochin Fayzulloev was asked about his expectations, he replied: “First of all, we expect to offer a successful presentation of Tajikistan, we have pursued during the past four years to raise the level of knowledge of Tajikistan as a tourist destination and improve our position in the global tourism market especially when compared to our direct competitors. In addition, we would like to offer our Tajik tourism providers the tourism platform, where they can present their products to potential business partners and customers, and thus, start a new business.”

Mr. Sebastian Folk, an international expert on the development of tourism, who are working with the national authorities on tourism, adding that Tajikistan is giving presentations for such long time made it clear that relates seriously to the development of its tourism. And it is a safe, stable, new and exciting direction in the heart of Asia.
